At Hobart Assembly, we are committed to helping you strengthen your family!

God’s Plan for Marriage

Marriage and the family were God’s idea and creation, and the Bible tells us that marriage and the family are divine institutions. God made it clear from the very beginning that His plan for marriage requires a change from independent living to interdependent living. Genesis 2:24 says, “…a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”

This unity and “Oneness” can only be achieved when both partners place the needs of their spouse ahead of their own needs. That can be a scary prospect and is not easy to achieve. The truth of the matter is that to put your spouse’s needs ahead of yours is the only way to receive the most out of marriage, and this may require repentance and forgiveness to restore a relationship.

Hobart Assembly believes that following the Biblical outline for marriage can lead to the closest thing to “heaven on earth” and offers many options to assist couples wanting a thriving, prosperous marriage.

God's Plan for Parenting

God gave one instruction to children in the Bible – learn to obey your parents. The instruction God gave to fathers (i.e. parents) is

to train your children to obey you, but without exasperating them.

That’s not always easy to do. Raising children can be one of the most rewarding, as well as most challenging, experiences parents will face. Hobart Assembly offers periodic parenting classes as well as coaching for any interested parents.
